Et si je réalisais un long-métrage? Un documentaire, mais assez long pour être vu dans les cinémas. Quelle idée merveilleuse (du moins pour moi. Je ne sais pas pour le public.)
Mais où est-ce que je trouve un producteur de long-métrages, francophone qui plus est? Exactement dans le même endroit où je trouve ceux des courts: nulle part, probablement. C'est difficile de produire un premier film, surtout si l'on n'est pas des lauréats de fraîche date.
C'est dommage, parce qu'un film n'arrive nulle part, est invisible, s'il n'a pas de distribution.
Et si je faisais trois chapitres de 26 minutes, comme on m'a suggéré, je couperais le parcours qui est chronologique et cognitif, comme beaucoup de mon art: l'on part sans savoir et l'on arrive à la connaissance. Dans ce cas, avec una classe parisienne de 5e, en travaillant sur un texte de François Rabelais et tout ce qui concerne science, histoire et nourriture, avec l'apport de nombreux experts. Plus qu'assez pour en faire un bon long-métrage, un documentaire varié et intéressant.

E se facessi un lungometraggio? Un documentario, ma lungo abbastanza da essere visto nei cinema. Che idea eccitante (almeno per me, non so il pubblico.)
Ma poi dove lo trovo un produttore di lungometraggi, e per di più francofono? Esattamente dove trovo quello di un corto: da nessuna parte, probabilmente. I nuovi arrivati non trovano produttori. Peccato, però. Soprattutto perché un film non arriva da nessuna parte, anzi è addirittura invisibile, se non ha chi lo distribuisce.
E fare tre capitoli da 26 minuti, più televisivi, come qualcuno mi consiglia, spezzerebbe il percorso che è cronologico e cognitivo come quasi tutti i miei lavori: si parte non sapendo e si costruisce una consapevolezza. In questo caso, coi ragazzi di una seconda media francese, lavorando su un testo di François Rabelais e tutto quello che riguarda scienza, storia e cibo, con il contributo di numerosi esperti. Più che sufficiente per fare un buon lungometraggio, vario e interessante.

What if I made a full length film? I mean a documentary, but long enough to be shown in cinemas. How exciting (at least for me. I don't know about the public.)
But then, where do I find a French-speaking feature-film producer? Exactly where I'd find one for a short film: nowhere, I'm afraid. No newcomer can find a producer, apparently. Pity, though. Most of all because a film can't go anywhere, is actually invisible, without a distributor.
And if I made three chapters of 26 minutes each, like someone suggested, I'd break the sense of the project which is chronological and cognitive like most of my art works: starting from not knowing, I try to build awareness. In this case, with a class of 12-years students of a French school working on a François Rabelais's text and all matters concerning science and history and food, with the help of several experts. More than enough to make a good, interesting full lenght film.
