Emma Marcegaglia è il nuovo capo della Confindustria. Sono contenta, se non fosse che riferendosi a lei anche i giornalisti economici più stimati e seri la chiamano Emma, ma non hanno mai chiamato per nome Montezemolo, né Berlusconi o Mitterrand o Clinton. Però subito appena si tratta di una donna -esclusa la Merkel, forse- scatta la sindrome italiana della segretaria, quella che dice lei, dottore ma viene chiamata per nome e col tu.
Marcegaglia è bella e tosta, lo riconoscono tutti. Allora perché la riducono a un nome, quando ai maschi riconoscono un cognome? Invidia, paura o disprezzo?

Emma Marcegaglia is the new boss of the General Confederation of Italian Industry. It makes me happy, but even the best economic newspapermen call her Emma, though they never called by their first name the former boss Montezemolo, or Berlusconi, Mitterrand, Clinton. But as soon as a woman is concerned -except perhaps in Merkel's case- starts the Italian little-pretty-typist syndrome. Marcegaglia is beautiful and tough, everyone admits it. So why do they try to reduce her to a first name, when to men they grant he right to a surname? Is it envy, fear or contempt?
