Sergio è un bambino solitario che passa un'estate da incubo nell'attesa di un fratellino.
"L'estate di mio fratello", bel primo film di Pietro Reggiani, ha soprattutto il difetto di avere troppa musica. Succede spesso, nel cinema. E non è facile far dire a dei ragazzini battute complesse come quelle che gli ha scritto il regista, così a volte i dialoghi sono poco naturali. Ma è una storia diversa dalle solite, piena di intuizioni, commovente e divertente.
E siccome nessun distributore se ne vuole occupare, i produttori hanno pensato di lanciare una campagna per adottare i film: gli spettatori comprano i biglietti in anticipo, e quando sono abbastanza uno che dà una sala si trova.
Non sembra una cattiva idea, se i prossimi film proposti saranno interessanti come questo.

Sergio is a solitary boy spending a difficult summer while his parents are expecting another child.
"L'estate di mio fratello", a good first film by Pietro Reggiani, has the common fault of using too much music. And it isn't easy to have boys saying complex dialogues like the ones the director wrote for them, so that some repartees sound quite unnatural. Anyway, it's a story full of intuitions, moving, funny, and different.
And because no distribution is going to adopt it, the producers invented the possibility of having films adopted by the public: spectators buy tickets in advance, and when they are enough, a place to see the film is found.
Not a bad idea, if the next films will be as interesting as this one.
