A friend sends me the text of his latest 30-page lecture. He only seems to get to the point on page 14, but no, wait a minute... there's no point?!
It's all so encyclopaedic I can't find the point: there are all the points in the world, from neolithic times to computers, from music to images, from tribal culture to the Big Brother, from art to crime.
I'll never understand how the intellectual élite thinks. Do they hope to be understood, or talking (writing) is the only important thing?

Un amico mi spedisce il testo della sua ultima conferenza di trenta pagine. Sembra che arrivi al punto solo verso pagina 14, ma no, aspetta un minuto... non c'è punto!?
E' tutto così enciclopedico che non riesco a trovare il punto: ci sono tutti i punti del mondo, dal neolitico ai computer, dalla musica alle immagini, dalla cultura tribale al Grande Fratello, dall'arte al crimine.
Non capirò mai come pensa l'élite intellettuale. Sperano di essere capiti, o gli basta parlare (scrivere)?
