La mostra di Fischli & Weiss arrivata a Parigi dopo mezzo giro del mondo ha alcune sale che mi sono piaciute molto.
Per cominciare, le sculture di argilla grezza, grandi come un mattone ma anche molto meno, hanno bellissimi titoli e una semplicità disarmante che va al cuore delle cose. Me le sarei portate a casa quasi tutte. Un esempio perfetto è quello delle montagnole scavate da strade con curve e tornanti, e piccolissime auto, dal titolo "Ricordo delle vacanze". Passate in macchina, come succede.
Mi è piaciuto ancora più della prima volta, quando l'avevo visto a Lugano, il classico video delle macchine inutili e delle reazioni a catena, "Il corso delle cose". Roba che solo degli uomini potevano pensarla, con la dedizione e la pazienza che hanno per certi serissimi giochi.
Belle anche le "Domande" proiettate su un muro nero: tutte le domande che possono venire in mente, volontariamente e inconsciamente.

Fischli and Weiss exhibition now in Paris after a half-world tour has some works I liked a lot. Starting with the clay sculptures as small as a brick, and even less, which have wonderful titles and a disaming simplicity going to the heart of things. I'd have taken home most of them. A perfect example are the small mounds cut through by winding roads, and very small cars. "Souvenir of the Holidays" spent driving, as it happens.
I liked even better than the first time, when I saw it in Lugano, the classic film "The Way Things Go". Only men could think of such a complex chain-reacting series of useless working machines and build it with the patience and dedication they can have for some serious games.
"Questions" was also good: a black wall and all the questions one can think of, voluntarily or unconsciously.
