C'è una cosa positiva da dire sulla Francia, dove in questo momento ho qualche difficoltà... ah sì, in un anno, ho venduto tre libri BabelFood alla libreria parigina del Jeu de Paume, la mia libreria d'arte preferita, che fa parte del museo. Sconosciuta come sono, è un bel successo.
Ma ci sarebbero altre cose da dire, positive e negative, molto meno personali e piccole.
Per cominciare, si avvicinano le elezioni, che qui non succedono di continuo come in Italia. Trovo e leggo pamphlet bellissimi, provocatori, interessanti.
In Italia non esiste niente del genere.
In Francia li pubblicano, ma quanti li leggono? E soprattutto, che cosa ne pensano? Tutti questi libri parlano di riforme necessarie, meno ministri, meno sovvenzioni, uno stato meno spendaccione. Ma quando uno stato spende, bene o male tutti ci guadagnano, nel breve periodo.
Quanti vogliono fare sacrifici adesso per un futuro migliore?

There's a positive thing to say about France, where at the moment I'm less happy than usual... in a year, I sold three copies of my BabelFood book at Jeu de Paume, the art bookshop I like best, inside the museum. For an unknown artist like I am, it's a success.
But there are other things to say, much less personal and small.
To start with, elections are coming nearer, and here they don't happen as often as in Italy. I find and read beautiful, thought-provoking, interesting pamphlets.
There's nothing like that in Italy.
In France they find publishers, but how many people read them? And most of all, what do they think of them? All of these books talk about necessary reforms, less ministers, less subsidies, less waste. But when a country spends more, people live better, at least in the short period.
How many want to make sacrifices now, in view of a better future?
