Hélène Cixous scrive e pubblica in francese e pubblica da trent'anni, ma non riesco a trovare il suo testo più celebre, Il riso della Medusa.
Su internet, la si trova citata e commentata in inglese e perfino in italiano ma quasi niente francese. In libreria, hanno vari volumi suoi recenti, ma niente raccolte di primi saggi.
Dei suoi testi non si trovano più di una o due frasi alla volta, saranno anche esemplari ma non ci si può limitare alle citazioni premasticate, come fanno tanti che parlano di madeleines e non hanno mai letto Proust. Succede, di trovare una citazione bell'e pronta e di usarla, ma non deve diventare la norma.
Come si fa a studiare, se i libri non ci sono? In libreria l'altro ieri non ammettevano neanche che Cixous avesse scritto qualcosa del genere. Nel loro elenco informatizzato non compare. Quindi non esiste.

Helene Cixous writes and has been published in French for thirty years, but I cannot find her most famous text, The laugh of the Medusa.
Online, I find her quoted and commented in English and even in Italian, but almost no French. In bookshops, they have some of her more recent books but no anthology of her first essays.
I can't find any more than one or two phrases, they are maybe her best but I don't want to limit myself to some pre-digested quotations, like those talking about madeleines without having read Proust. It happens to find a beautiful quotation all ready and quote it, but it can't be the rule.
How can I study, if there are no books? In the bookshop the other day they didn't even accept of the existence of a Cixous book on Medusa. It isn't in their computer's list, therefore it doesn't exist.
