Torno da Parigi a Milano e so che nei prossimi quindici giorni dovrei andare, o sono invitata, a Portogruaro, Torino, Collegno, Bolognano, Bologna, Napoli, Castiglione Olona, Como, forse Caserta. In treno, è un’odissea. Intanto dovrei lavorare e andare dal dentista e il frigo è vuoto.
"Nomi di luoghi" è un capitolo della Recherche di Proust, in cui ascoltando il suono dei nomi Marcel si inventa le città, dà loro forma. Interessante e doppiamente visionario: perché immagina le forme basandosi sui nomi in francese. Venezia e Firenze non possono avere la stessa forma e gli stessi colori di Venise e Florence, sono suoni troppo diversi.

“Names of places” is a chapter of Proust’s Recherche, where Marcel invents and gives shape to the places listening to the sound of their names. Interesting and doubly visionary: he invents the shapes basing himself on the French sounds. Venezia and Firenze cannot have the same shape and colors of Venise and Florence, they sound too different.
