Ogni volta che vedo un bel film, o una bella mostra, sento l’urgenza di diventare un’artista di valore, e intendo brava, brava, sempre più brava. Non basta mai. Si può sempre fare meglio, spingere più in là il proprio limite. Ma non sarebbe male arrivare a valere anche in senso economico. Poi mi dicono che un artista deve misurarsi con il mercato. Vorrei anch’io, ma non me la sento di mettermi a vendere i miei lavori al mercato.

Every time I see a good film or a good art show I feel the need to become a better artist. It’s never enough. I can always do more, push farther my limits. It also wouldn’t be bad to sell more. They tell me an artist must contend with the market. I’d like to, but I don’t feel like going to sell my works on the market place.
