Il disagio dell’emigrante è anche il tema del mio ultimo video, che si chiama Expatriate. Se per me che so abbastanza bene il francese ci sono a volte momenti di totale solitudine e incomprensione quando sono in Francia, che cosa è la vita di un manovale appena immigrato? Come deve essere difficile anche solo mangiare alla mensa, ogni giorno, cibi ignoti, insieme ad altri che parlano di cose che non conosciamo in una lingua che parliamo appena.

The emigrant’s hardship is also the theme of my latest video, called Expatriate. If I have moments of solitude and incomprehension when I’m in France, and yet I speak French rather well, how can be a recent immigrant worker’s life? How difficult must be to have to share our daily meal at the canteen, eating strange food with people talking about things we don’t know anything about in a language we speak very little.
