Che cosa si può fare contro le zanzare? A Parigi le trovi solo nel métro, ma quelle poche sono cattivissime e attaccano almeno fino a novembre. Un’amica settantenne dice che una volta nel métro si prendevano le pulci. Ma adesso tutto è più pulito.
Nei treni italiani ci sono le cimici, appunto perché non sono abbastanza puliti, oltre ad avere ritardi frequenti. La gente protesta. Poche settimane fa a Mestre ho cercato di fotografarne una, ma continuava a muoversi… Pareva una cimice delle piante, di quelle che si trovano nei lamponi, e non mi sono preoccupata.

What can you do against mosquitoes? In Paris you find them only in the metro, but those few are quite cruel and bite well into November. A seventy year old friend of mine says that when she was younger one could come home with fleas, but now everything is cleaner.
In Italian trains they found bugs, because they’re not clean enough, besides being often late. People protest. Some weeks ago in Mestre I tried to take a photo of one, but it moved too much… It was a green bug, like those you find among raspberries, so I didn’t worry.
