L’altra sera c’erano Cesare Pietroiusti e Paul Griffiths in “Mangiare denaro, un’asta”, ma erano in ritardo, e io ero stufa di aspettare: sono tornata a casa. Comunque, è una performance dove gli artisti mangiano le banconote, anzi probabilmente le inghiottono senza masticare, le espellono, lavano, firmano, danno a chi ha pagato per l’opera, cioè per il biglietto di banca maldigerito. Metamorfosi del denaro investito in opera d’arte, come dice Gabi Scardi nella presentazione, o denaro=merda, tanto per ripetere il solito cliché moralista?

The other night there were Cesare Pietroiusti and Paul Griffiths in “Eating money, an auction”. They were late, I was bored with waiting and came home. Anyway, it’s a performance where the artists eat banknotes, or better they swallow it whole, they expel, wash, sign and give it to whomever paid for the oeuvre, i.e. the undigested money. Metamorphosis of the invested money into a work of art, as Gabi Scardi says in the press release, or money=shit, as in many old moralistic clichés?
