Ogni tanto un artista, e succede soprattutto agli scultori, crea uno spazio per le sue opere che diventa un'opera in sé. Ho visitato il parco-laboratorio-museo Chillida_Leku vicino a San Sebastian, quella casa scavata come un guscio di pietra e antiche travi bellissime come alberi. Le sculture di Eduardo Chillida mi piacciono, anche se meno di quelle di Giuseppe Spagnulo, che hanno più forza bruta e meno preziosismi estetici. Ma quel parco e quella casa, con le loro opere, sono emozionanti.

From time to time an artist, often a sculptor, creates a space for his or her artwork and it becomes an artwork in itself. I visited Chillida's parc-workshop-museum near San Sebastian, a house emptied like a stone eggshell and wonderful ancient beams like trees. I like Eduardo Chillida's sculptures, although I prefer to his esthetic refinement the brute strength of Giuseppe Spagnulo. But the whole parc and house installation is quite moving.
