Quelli che vincono i festival sono bravi, e i loro lavori hanno impatto, perché la giuria ha troppo da fare per cogliere le ambiguità e l'ironica discrezione di lavori come i miei. Soprattutto se un conocorso è importante e i partecipanti sono più di mille.
Mi sono chiesta se dovrei tenerne conto, e cercare di fare lavori da festival. Ma poi a chi mi rivolgo davvero? Per chi faccio video, foto, progetti? Perché voglio comunicare un'idea. E forse modificarla per vincere i concorsi non ha senso. Già, ma se la tengo nel cassetto a chi la comunico?

Award-winning artists are good and their works have impact, because juries have no time to catch the ambiguity and ironic discretion of works like mine. Especially when the festival is an important one and submitters are more than a thousand.
I asked myself if I should try and make festival-quality work. But then who are my target? For whom do I make videos, photos, projects? To communicate ideas. And maybe to modify it in order to try and win awards is nonsense. Well, and if nobody sees it, what's the meaning?
