Insieme al dolore e al disgusto per la crudeltà umana, quello che mi colpisce nei fatti recenti di torture e di uccisioni è il rifiuto delle responsabilità. E' sempre colpa di qualcun altro, nessuno lo sapeva, si deve sempre indagare per cercare i veri responsabili, nessuno riconosce di aver fatto qualcosa, o se l'ha fatto era per scherzo. Tutti a tirare il sasso e a nascondere la mano, a ritrattare, a dire io non c'ero, io non c'entro. Ma invece c'entriamo tutti.
Per quanto mi riguarda, non faccio certo abbastanza.

Together with the grief and disgust fro human cruelty, what strikes me in the recent tortures and killings is that nobody declares his or her responsibility. It's always someone else's fault, nobody was informed, an inquest is being ordered, no-one did it, or else it was just for fun. Everybody saying it wasn't me, I wasnt' there, I'm not involved. But we are all involved.
For my part, I know I'm not doing enough.
