The city of Bari opens the great Castello Svevo, one of the most impressive medieval Italian castles. And they put into it Mario Merz's works, together with the ones by Domenico Bianchi. Last year it was Sol LeWitt and Mimmo Paladino.
The contrast between the thick stone walls and the new art must be astonishing. I'd love to see it, to be again in the light of that country. I wonder if they organised some bus service to go there, though: the castle is in the middle of nowhere, tourists can only get there by taxi. Quite expensive too.

La città di Bari apre il grande Castello Svevo, uno dei più bei castelli medievali italiani. E ci mettono opere di Mario Merz, insieme a lavori di Domenico Bianchi. L'anno scorso erano Sol LeWitt e Mimmo Paladino. Mi piacerebbe vedere il contrasto fra quelle spesse mura di pietra e l'arte contemporanea. Rivedere la luce di quella terra. Mi chiedo se hanno organizzato un servizio di autobus per andarci, però: il castello è in mezzo alla campagna, ci si arriva solo in taxi. E costa una fortuna.
