Perché possa emergere un genio ci deve essere una massa di artisti (matematici, studiosi) e un mecenatismo abbastanza diffuso. Quello è il terreno fertile dove spunta il genio. Le piante non fanno un solo seme, e nel sottobosco vivono in tanti.

To have one genius, there must be a mass of artists (mathematicians, scholars) and quite a number of patrons of the arts. That's the good soil where genius grows. Plants don't produce only one seed, and the underwood is full of life.
