Qui a Parigi le fragole migliori si chiamano "gariguette". Prima non pensavo che anche le fragole avessero un nome. Le mele sì, e anche le pere, le prugne ; ma le fragole?
IL NOME DELLE FRAGOLE
Nei negozi italiani è quasi impossibile sapere la provenienza di una verdura, la qualità/varietà di un frutto. In Francia è la norma, e mi piace. Tradizionalmente, le migliori carote vengono da una certa zona, gli asparagi da un'altra, e le patate hanno un nome. Prima di fallire Marks&Spencer vendeva a Parigi, o tentava di farlo, lattughe e pomodori di coltivazione inglese. Non ho mai pensato che il loro reparto frutta e verdura facesse grossi affari.

NAMING STRAWBERRIES
Here in Paris the best strawberries are called "gariguette". I never thought before that strawberries could have a name. Apples, ok, and even pears and prunes; but strawberries?
In Italian shops knowing the region a vegetable comes from, or the name/quality of it, is almost impossible. In France it's the norm, and I like it. Traditionally, the best carrots come from a certain region, asparagus from another, and potatoes have a name. Before closing down, Marks&Spencer tried to sell in Paris English-grown lettuces and tomatoes. I never thought their vegetable sales were big
